Hate Cake

Helping people cut through the hate, with cake.

This project was originally launched in 2016 as a response to the tense political and social climate that had been building. It originated as a platform to order and send cakes utilizing local bakeries and delivery services like Postmates. People were encouraged to use a message on a cake and send it to someone to break the ice, and ease into a real conversation.

This sentiment is still relevant today. It’s less common to show patience, empathy and understanding. It’s more common to get triggered and be brash with opinions. But we believe there is a common ground where we can connect with others. All we need is a chance to sit down and talk. And, maybe, cake can help bring us together and deal with the Hate.

“Let's face it, a nice creamy chocolate cake does a lot for a lot of people; it does for me.”

-Audrey Hepburn
